About Me
Welcome! I’m Melissa.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) that specializes in trauma-focused treatment with over a decade of clinical experience. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Social Work degree (MSW), and a post-graduate Certificate in Trauma Studies.
I am an EMDRIA Certified EMDR provider and Consultant in Training. I have extensive training and experience working with adults with complex trauma and dissociation. I am trained professionally through the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISST-D).
I offer consultation services for EMDR Basic Training, EMDR Certification, and trauma and dissociation. I also offer clinical supervision for social workers.
In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and pets. I love to be in nature. You can find me hiking, kayaking, and taking pictures of nature (especially trees). I enjoy reading a variety of books- sometimes to learn more and sometimes to take a break from the heaviness of the work we do. Some of my favorite ways to take care of myself are grounding in nature, running and boxing.
My Approach
In consultation and supervision, I provide a supportive environment to help you build confidence in your abilities as an EMDR provider, trauma therapist, or social worker. Together, we will address areas for growth and identify the goals you desire to achieve. While working with me, we will access the unique wisdom and gifts you bring to the profession. You will be encouraged to be your authentic self and connect with others through your humanness. You will leave our time together feeling confident to implement the skills, protocols, and therapeutic approaches we dedicate our time to.
